Last year Victoria’s Secret returned with their iconic fashion show after a long six year hiatus. Today they teased on their instagram that it would be returning again this year! This is exciting news for all lovers of fashion. Their lingerie has been a staple in the closets of women who love high-fashion for decades now.
In recent years the brand has had a notable shift from prioritising the male-gaze to centring the female perspective. Their recent designs have leant more toward a comfortable fit whilst still looking sexy rather than cuts that are based purely on aesthetics. After suffering backlash in the past for the narrow choice of body types that are celebrated in their shows, they have also begun to branch out and bring attention to more realistic woman’s bodies. They featured plus-size Angel, Ali Tate Cutler, in 2019. A breath of fresh air compared to the lack of diversity that their shows had been accused of in the past.
One of the draws of Victoria’s Secret’s polished and huge-budget productions has always been the musical acts. With incredibly notable artists having performed in the past such as Ariana Grande, Destiny’s Child and Bebe Rexha. We are waiting in anticipation to find out who this years artist will be. In our dreams we would love to see the incomparable Lady Gaga or the ethereal Lana Del Ray. Both of these options would be perfect picks in our opinions and make for an unforgettable 2025 show. After their comeback show last year we hope that this year’s show is even bigger and better than last year.
